In the Neighbourhood
There are plenty of ways to take a break from your daily routine in this neighbourhood, whether you're looking for outdoor activities or indoor relaxation. Additionally, there are many hidden gems to explore. Here are some of our favourite suggestions.
Give yourself a break
Don’t just sit at your desk all day - get a little green space in your eye. Spa Fields is the perfect place for a spot of R&R, or even a full body workout. It has a free outdoor gym and a tarmac ball court, kitted out for b-ball, tennis and footie. Or, if you need your break to be a bit more zen, why not head to the lavender garden and do some meditation?
Livin’ la vida local
If you’re after a cosy, quintessentially British pub, look no further than the Holy Tavern (formerly known as the Jerusalem). Situated in the grounds of the Clerkenwell Priory, one of the oldest hostelries in London, the Holy Tavern boasts a range of premium IPAs and even has a toasty open fire. Head down on Tuesdays for candlelight night and have a pint in an ambience of yore.
We can work it out
Gymbox Farringdon is a high-octane facility, just a short walk from Chancery Lane station. With a boxing ring, dance studio, sprint track and resident DJs, there are few better places to get put through your workout paces. Start a one month free trial now and see if it’s for you.
Lunch o’clock
Fresh, tasty and family-run, Ngon Ngon is one of our favourite lunch locations. Watch the world of Clerkenwell go by with a seat at the window-facing counter. Or take away and dine alfresco (if the weather permits). All lunch dishes cost less than a tenner so you really can’t go wrong.
Feeling fancy?
Iconic Moorish restaurant, Moro, is a great place to go for a special meal out. With vegan mains starting at £24, it’s definitely not the cheapest eat in town. But the award-winning husband and wife team that runs it certainly makes the price tag worthwhile. Its popularity can make it hard to book a table, so you might want to plan ahead.
The weekend starts here
Start your weekend on the right foot at Wilhemina's Lounge, part of the Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell. Its unique and surprising cocktail menu is a nod to the area’s distillery heritage. And a range of tasty small plates will help you drift from after work drinks into dinner.
Explore the neighbourhood
Exmouth Market
An exciting hub of pop-ups, restaurants, street stalls and pubs, Exmouth Market should be high on any list of Clerkenwell must-sees. Taking its name from the Exmouth Arms, this bustling market has been active for over a century and shows no signs of stopping. The perfect place for an after work bite, pint or three course meal
Sadler’s Wells
This iconic, internationally renowned theatre showcases dance of all kinds. Home to the groundbreaking choreographer, Matthew Bourne, whose contemporary ballets have popularised the form, a show at Sadler’s Wells never fails to impress and inspire.
Clerkenwell Green
At the heart of Clerkenwell sits Clerkenwelll Green, an area once known for radical thought and protest. Many orators and speakers have had their say here over the years. Boarded by Islington, Kings Cross and Holborn, the Green is now a nexus of thriving London districts. The perfect place to sit, relax and watch the world go by.
Little Italy
Known in the 19th century as London’s Little Italy, Clerkenwell’s still home to a large and thriving Italian community. Visit the beautiful St Peter’s Catholic Church, a basilica-style building right on Saffron Hill. Or pop in to Terroni of Clekernwell, one of the city’s oldest and well-loved delicatessens.
Clerkenwell Design Week
Clerkenwell is a hive of creativity - more designers and architects work here than anywhere else on the planet. In recognition of this, Clerkenell Design Week celebrates the area’s creative communities. Book your spot for 2023 and enjoy a showcase of international design, presented through exhibitions, installations and showroom events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does sub800 do?

At sub800, we're here to make your office feel like a true home for your business. We provide curated, bespoke workspaces and offer you the opportunity to transform your office into a home away from home that truly represents your business. Our services include finding the perfect office space, bespoke office fitouts, a range of weekly services, and simple payments, all designed to create offices that work for you.

What's different about sub800?

sub800 is wholly London-based and is the first marketplace to offer affordable flexible leases, all inclusive rentals, simple legals and property management for multiple landlords across its platform.

  • Our wide ranging portfolio offers customers a wide ranging selection of opportunities and great prices and on simple terms.
  • On top of this, our experienced concierges support businesses with their office needs.

What's included?

A typical sub800 office will include an unfurnished space that you can fit out and make your own. The rent includes your service charge.

  1. Service charge – this covers maintenance, an allocated site manager, security and cleaning of common parts.
  2. Insurance – this covers the proportion of building insurance you pay.

What isn’t included?
  1. Business Rates – these are paid directly to the local authority. We give guide prices based on information accessible to us, but always encourage you to contact the relevant local authority for an exact figure or to check if your business is exempt.
  2. Utilities – your utilities are based on consumption, so instead of charging you an over inflated flat fee, we allow you the flexibility to shop around for the best market rate.

What's in my space when I move in?

Your unit should be clean, decorated and in good condition – ready for you to brand and fit out as you wish. You will need to take over any gas, electricity or telephone services, which your centre manager will help with.
