In the Neighbourhood
With the world famous tennis courts and beautiful Wimbledon Common on deerstep, there are no shortage of options when it comes to escaping your working day. There are plenty of hidden geme too. Here's a selection of some of our favourites.
Give yourself a break
Make the most of your amazing location and take a break on the banks of the iconic River Thames. You could cross Southwark Bridge and take a stroll by Shakespeare’s Globe or stay on the north side of the river. However you choose to get those steps in, everywhere you look will be a feast for the eyes.
Livin’ la vida local
The Jamaica Wine House (aka the Jampot) is one of the Square Mile’s coolest spots. Tucked away in St Michael’s Alley with its maze of mediaeval backstreets, the Jampot started life in 1652 as London’s first ever coffee house. Head to the basement for Todd’s Wine Bar and its range of old and new world wines. Or stay street level and enjoy a fresh cask ale.
We can work it out
Rena Health and Leisure at St Paul's has got your wellbeing back. Use the gym to work up a sweat then unwind in the steam room, sauna or pool. With a range of luxury spa treatments on hand, you can spoil yourself every which way.
Lunch o’clock
Just ten minutes’ walk from the City of London is the brilliant Borough Market. With stalls, stands, bars and shops featuring food and drink from all around the world, there are few better places to grab a spot of lunch anywhere in London.
Feeling fancy?
Located on the 40th floor of one of London’s tallest buildings, the world-famous Duck and Waffle is open 24 hours a day. From breakfast at dawn to cocktails at sundown, breathtaking London views are always on the menu. A great place to wine and dine visiting clients or to celebrate a win for your team.
The weekend starts here
Demon, Wise & Partners is an upmarket cocktail bar underneath the City of London. Its subterranean, speakeasy vibe is strictly seated only. It’s small and gets busy so it’s wise to book ahead. You’ll find it on Throgmorton Street in the basement of The Arbitrager.

St Paul’s Cathedral
Few of London’s buildings are more iconic than St Paul’s Cathedral. Designed in the 17th century by the architect, Christopher Wren, this amazing structure has been in the background of uncountable TV shows and movies. Pay the site a visit to get up close and personal with a genuine celebrity.
The Royal Exchange
Feeling flush? Then look no further than the famous Royal Exchange, a luxury shopping area in the centre of the City. Here, you’ll find all kinds of luxury brands, including Gucci, Paul Smith and Tiffany & Co.
Sky Garden
Head to Sky Garden (on the 43rd floor of the Walkie Talkie) for unforgettable, panoramic views of London’s famous skyline. Its lush and landscaped gardens are completely free to visit. The ideal place to watch the sunrise or maybe even go on a date.
St Olave’s Church
Dating back to 1065 and the burial place of Samuel Pepys, St Olave’s Church is one of few surviving mediaeval buildings left in the City of London.
Open House London
Keep an eye out for the Open House London festival, run by the charity Open City. Open House London is a chance to visit buildings usually closed to the public and to learn about and explore diverse architecture and communities. City of London landmarks that were opened to the public in the past include the Lloyd’s building and Mansion House.
